Getting Started with NebulaImage Monitoring
NebulaImage Monitoring provides a pre-wired observability stack on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS: Prometheus collects metrics, Node Exporter exposes system metrics, and Grafana provides dashboards — all configured and started automatically at launch.
Prerequisites
- An active AWS account
- An EC2 key pair in your target region
- A security group allowing port 22 (SSH) from your IP
Launch
- Find NebulaImage Monitoring on AWS Marketplace and subscribe
- Launch an EC2 instance (t3.small or larger)
- SSH in:
ssh -i your-key.pem ubuntu@<ec2-ip>
Verify services are running
sudo systemctl status prometheus
sudo systemctl status grafana-server
sudo systemctl status node_exporter
All three should show active (running).
Access the interfaces
Open your EC2 security group to allow the following ports from your IP only:
| Service | Port | URL |
|---------------|------|----------------------------------|
| Grafana | 3000 | http://<ec2-ip>:3000 |
| Prometheus | 9090 | http://<ec2-ip>:9090 |
| Node Exporter | 9100 | http://<ec2-ip>:9100/metrics |
First login to Grafana
- Navigate to
http://<ec2-ip>:3000 - Log in with username
admin - You will be prompted to set a new admin password on first login
The Node Exporter dashboard is pre-imported. You should immediately see CPU, memory, disk, and network metrics.
Next steps
- Configuration — Add more scrape targets and dashboards
- Security — Secure Grafana and Prometheus before production use
